Best Hosting Company Websites of 2016

We all know that the web is supported by websites. But below that is your web hosting company, or even a hosting company for far more complex applications like databases (mysql, oracle etc) or even specific applications like Blackbaud products like Raisers Edge.

So we thought we would take a look at some of the best websites around for hosting companies of all shapes and sizes.

Let’s just right in.

WPEngine – Dedicated WordPress Hosting

WPEngine are well known for the dedicated WordPress focused hosting. They are very strict in their control over websites, disallowing a lot of plugins for the good of the customer.

They focus on improving speed, performance, and overall maintenance of website, but they also have a very focused and high-converting websites as well.

They have a great hero section driving users to the right goals on the site, as well as captivating imagery and calls to action (both in the hero section as well as the header). And the rest of the site is very conversion oriented as well.

Concourse Hosting – Blackbaud Hosting

More of a niche hosting service, but definitely one worth taking a look at is Concourse Hosting.

They offer hosting for Blackbaud software and the related products of Raisers Edge and Tableau.

Their website is very well designed with very clear goals and layout just like WPEngine. They are driving people to the main areas of their website as well as collecting emails for their specific customer-focused campaigns to help on-board them as well.

Definitely a website that is keeping up with the pace in 2016.

Traffic Planet Hosting

Another WordPress focused hosting company worth checking out are Traffic Planet. They are focused on providing speed, with their SSD servers, and their website brings this information to the potential customer very quickly.

They have a number of calls to action, like WPEngine, with the bar at the top of the page highlighting their SSD offering. They also have a handy comparison table on the homepage so that visitors can easily see what they are getting compared to other services.

Testimonials, a very powerful way of getting people to trust you on a new site, are also clearly displayed, helping to convert that traffic asap.

Rackspace – The Original Cloud Hosting

When looking for one of the big boys in the hosting space, you can’t move past contenders like Rackspace. They have been doing this since the beginning and are a key player online.

It is interesting to see, in comparison to other websites out there, that their website is not as conversion focused or easy to navigate. This seems to happen a lot to bigger companies as their offerings expand and their focus broadens (i.e.. no focus). And you can see this has happened on the Rackspace home page in the image above.

However, they are still one of the better hosting companies out there and worth mentioning in this piece.

Digital Ocean – Hosting For Developers

The last site I want to mention, in stark contrast to Rackspace, is Digital Ocean.

Their offering is simple, and to the point. Their website follows suit, quickly and clearly demonstrating what they have to offer and getting you to the right information quickly.

They show you the key benefits of what they do and have the information you need available at your fingertips. They also have key calls to action in place to help get visitors to the right places and to take the action they intend. The sign of a great converting website. Especially in the competitive hosting space.

Hosting Websites Vary Alot

As you can see from this quick coverage of a variety of hosting companies, the way in which they design their websites varies a lot.

From the simple and to the point, to the more complex to navigate. All is possible.

What other websites do you think are worth mentioning here?
